People of Power believes strong communities are built through support, mentorship, compassion, and opportunity. We welcome individuals, organizations, volunteers, and community partners who are passionate about helping youth and young adults grow, heal, and succeed. There are many ways to get involved:

VOLUNTEER WITH US

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of People of Power. Whether you have a few hours a month or a few hours a week, there is a role for you.

Youth Mentor

Walk alongside a young person as a consistent, caring adult presence. Commit to weekly one-on-one sessions and help them set and reach their goals.

2–4 hrs/week

Leadership Workshop Facilitator

Lead workshops on public speaking, civic engagement, career readiness, and personal development for teens and young adults.

2–3 hrs/month

Mental Wellness Support Volunteer

Help facilitate peer support groups and wellness activities. Mental health background preferred but not required — training provided.

2–4 hrs/week

Autism Education Support Aide

Assist youth on the autism spectrum with educational activities, social skill building, and individualized learning support.

3–5 hrs/week

Community Events Volunteer

Help plan and run community events, workshops, and celebrations. Great for those who want to make an impact without a long-term weekly commitment.

Event-based

Administrative & Outreach Support

Support the organization behind the scenes — social media, communications, grant writing, data entry, and community outreach.

People of Power — Volunteer Code of Conduct

As a volunteer with People of Power LLC, I agree to uphold the following standards:

1. Respect & Dignity. I will treat all youth, families, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect, dignity, and compassion at all times, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or background.

2. Safety First. I will prioritize the physical and emotional safety of every young person in our programs. I will never engage in any form of abuse, neglect, or inappropriate conduct.

3. Boundaries. I will maintain appropriate professional boundaries with youth participants and their families. I will not engage in personal relationships outside of the program context without organizational approval.

4. Confidentiality. I will keep all personal information about youth and families strictly confidential and will not share it with unauthorized individuals.

5. Commitment. I will honor my scheduled commitments and communicate promptly if I am unable to fulfill my volunteer duties.

6. Positive Youth Development. I will actively promote positive youth development, emotional wellness, self-confidence, creativity, leadership, and education in all my interactions.

7. Reporting. I will immediately report any concerns about the safety or well-being of a youth participant to the appropriate People of Power staff member.

8. Representation. I understand that as a volunteer I represent People of Power LLC and will conduct myself accordingly in all public and online spaces.

Volunteer Agreement

By submitting this application, I, the undersigned volunteer, agree to the following terms with People of Power LLC ("the Organization"):

Term of Service. I understand that my volunteer service is at-will and may be terminated by either party at any time. I agree to provide reasonable notice if I need to discontinue my service.

No Compensation. I understand that my service as a volunteer is unpaid and I am not entitled to any wages, benefits, or compensation from the Organization.

Background Check Authorization. I authorize People of Power LLC to conduct a background check as a condition of my volunteer service. I understand this is required for all volunteers working with youth.

Liability Waiver. I agree to hold harmless People of Power LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from my volunteer activities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by the Organization.

Photo & Media Release. Unless otherwise indicated, I grant People of Power LLC permission to use photographs or video of me taken during volunteer activities for promotional and educational purposes.

Compliance. I agree to comply with all People of Power LLC policies, procedures, and guidelines as communicated to me during orientation and throughout my service.

Governing Law. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri.

People of Power — Partnership Terms

By submitting this inquiry, your organization agrees to the following partnership principles with People of Power LLC:

1. Shared Mission. Partner organizations must align with People of Power's mission to promote positive youth development, emotional wellness, leadership, and education for youth ages 6–25.

2. Youth Safety. All partner organizations and their representatives who interact with youth must comply with People of Power's safety and conduct standards, including background check requirements where applicable.

3. Non-Discrimination. Partner organizations must operate without discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.

4. Confidentiality. Partners agree to maintain the confidentiality of any youth or family information shared in the course of the partnership.

5. Representation. Partners may not represent themselves as agents of People of Power LLC without explicit written authorization.

6. Term. Partnership arrangements are subject to a formal written agreement to be executed prior to the commencement of any joint activities. This inquiry form does not constitute a binding partnership agreement.

7. Governing Law. All partnership agreements shall be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri.
